Sunday, 28 July, Z CAMP 2019
Here at Z Camp we keep a pretty busy schedule. Morning to night with classes, activities, beach, sports and more, but Sundays tend to be a bit of an exception. I don’t really know many people who would disagree with the view that Sundays should be more chilled out than the rest of the week.
Sunday morning at the beach
So in keeping with the idea of a day of rest, we let the campers sleep an extra thirty minutes! I know that doesn’t sound like much, but hey, we still have things to do. Like going to the beach for an extra long session.. Of special note this morning was the biggest hole in the sand that I have personally seen, and what do you do with a giant hole on the beach? You find someone to put in it, obviously (only up to his knees, don’t worry).
After showers and lunch, we continued the chill theme with board games and arts and crafts as we awaited the new arrivals. Kids made posters to decorate the Z camp classrooms and we were impressed with the artistic talent on display!
New arrivals in Z camp
You would think that life at summer camp becomes routine after a while, but you would be wrong. It’s always heartening to see how easily new and old campers mix together, show each other around and making friends.
But they could always use a little help, so the evening’s activity was a new round of icebreakers and team building games. I won’t give the play by play, but I can assure you that I have no doubts that our newest bunch is going to shine.
